A lorry driver who police confirmed was moving at a speed, lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a Nissan matatu, killing the 34-year-old priest who was crossing the busy road.
The lorry was ferrying sacks of miraa to Nakuru from Nanyuki when the accident happened.
The 34-year-old priest was identified as Samuel Abigael, a security guard at one of the universities in Nairobi County.
Traffic police officer Caroline Kennedy who was controlling traffic Githurai roundabout said the priest was heading home for work, night shift when he met his untimely death.
The driver of the lorry sped off after hitting the victim.
The body of the deceased was transferred to Kenyatta University funeral home awaiting postmortem.
The security officers have launched a manhunt for the lorry driver who is still at large.
The latest accident comes only two days when three men died in grisly road accident along Thika SuperHighway.
