Six plain clothed policemen filmed in CCTV footage arresting touts, idlers and extorting money at kahawa wendani bridge, Nairobi County.
Nairobi County Police James Nyamawi who confirmed the incident said the six officers captured on the CCTV camera were manning a roadblock at Wendani Bridge.
According to the video clip that has since gone viral on various social media platforms, the officers were seen harrasing, extorting money from touts and arresting idlers along the road.
The latest report comes only a day after two police officers were caught collecting Kshs2000 bribes from motorists along Ngong Road.
The motorist now blamed the security officers for taking advantage of the Covid-19 restrictions to make wrongful arrest and extort money from.
They are now calling upon the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to take stern action against officers found extorting bribes from unsuspecting members of the public by taking advantage of the 10pm-4am curfew hour.
