A fourteen-seater Matatu vehicle was involved in a grisly road accident on Sunday evening in Londiani, Kericho County. The accident claimed a number of lives and the bodies were rushed to the Molo Sub-County mortuary. For those who were fortunate enough to survive the accident, they were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
According to a credible source (Sikika Road Safety) which is a popular online page that gives news on road safety and vehicles, the accident claimed lives of young people who were on a road trip.
Thanks to Sikika Road Safety Facebook page, National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) also received a fair share of blame for allegedly giving such issues a blind eye.
I gathered a number of photos of the vehicle before the accident. The Matatu was very beautiful, to be honest and here are some of the photos:
May the departed souls rest in eternal peace. Please take care while you are on the road.
