Prepare for an Electricity Blackout on Friday, October 22, if You Live in These Areas

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company will be carrying out network maintenance on Friday, October 22. The maintenance operation will force KPLC workers to shut down the supply of electricity so that they can work on the power grid systems in different parts of the country. This will end up resulting in a very long electricity blackout which will last for up to 8 hours starting from morning to the evening. The people residing in the following areas will be affected.

In MACHAKOS COUNTY, the scheduled power interruption will affect Kimutwa area from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. The residents of the following places will be left without power; Kimutwa Market, Kaathi, Mang’auni, Makaveti, Masani, Ulaani, Kalama, Kyangala, Kwa Mutisya and adjacent customers.

In MIGORI COUNTY, the outage will affect Oyani Masai and Ulanda Rabour areas where the outage will last from 9.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. The residents of the following places will remain without power; Malunga, Mulo, Oyani Masai, Thim Jope, Angaga, Thidhina, God Ngoche, Bungu Mahena, Ulanda, Akoko A, Nyakurukuma, Arambe, Opasi, Hope Centre, Rabour, Ogwedhi, Onyalo Biro, Sagegi and adjacent customers.

In MOMBASA COUNTY, the set outage will affect parts of Likoni as from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M which will leave the residents of the following places in blackout; Mrima Hospital, Bomu Hospital, Kitaruni, Consolata Catholic Church, Ujamaa, Likoni Fire Station, Rehabilitation Center, Ujamaa Shonda, Inuka Police Station, Vyemani, Mbuta Hosp, Mwangala Primary School, CCECC Kiteje, Kona Mpya, Shika Adabu and adjacent customers.

Still in Mombasa County, the power will interrupted in MOMBASA ISLAND from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M which will cause a very long electricity blackout in the following areas; Mbaraki KP Staff Quarters, African Marine, Milly Glass, TSS Grain Millers, Mission to Seamen, Mackenzie Ltd, Taifa Cables, Wananchi Marine, Kitui Flour Mills and adjacent customers.
