According to the nation media six family in Migori County have become blind in a worrying incident leaving the residents of Thim Jope village in Uriri Sub County in disbelief.A woman together with her four children, ages between 7 and 24 years had to be rushed to Migori County Referral Hospital to be treated.A 12-year-old boy from the family lost his eyesight and then died in unknown circumstances while at their home.Omondi George said that his wife and their children were in good health when they went to sleep on Friday. They had complained that they could not see on Saturday morning. died.This is according to his 12 year old nephew who lives with the family
''My family members were all okay when we went to bed. It was not until Saturday morning that I realized that my whole family had gone blind,” said Mr Omondi.
The area assistant chief Kerry Otieno confirmed the incident.He says that the incident is a rare one and it is yet to be known what could be the cause of the blindness.
The body of the 12 year old boy who died was taken to a nearby mortuary.
