A heartbreaking fire outbreak has left Kangemi residents homeless while others are counting losses. This comes after the famous Gikomba Market was destroyed by a ravaging fire.
The origin of the humongous fire is yet to be established. According to our sources, the fire is said to have occurred in the wee hours of Thursday night. At around 12:40 a.m the fire started as alleged by one witness. 
The violent inferno grew bigger consuming all property in its path. The fire consumed hundreds of properties including businesses owned by the residents of the area. 
Fire brigade arrived the scene of the incident but couldn't save the hundreds of properties destroyed. They managed to put out the brutal fire and salvaged property that could be saved.
Kangemi Estate businesspersons incured millions of losses. Some residents sustained injuries as they were evading the soaring inferno.
