A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Kitale following a robbery last night on Monday. The suspect wore a police smoke jacket, and with him were also 17 rolls of bhang and a kitchen knife as per a report from the police officers.

Dan Muiruri, as the man is known, was among a five-man gang that went down on a man walking home at night, making away with his phone and some valuables.
As reported by the DCI on Twitter, the robbed man notified some officers on patrol, who deployed a manhunt and successfully apprehended Mr Muiruri with the said valuables. The post read:
“The victim of crime reported the incident to police officers on patrol who immediately launched a manhunt for the suspects and he was arrested within 1 hour."
He is currently in police custody, waiting to be arraigned in court on accounts of robbery with violence.
