3 Cops Dramatically Disarmed After Accidentally Shooting Dead a Young Man

Police officers in Njiru are investigating three colleagues following a shooting incident that left a civilian dead the night of Thursday, December 2.

A police report filed at Rua station indicated the officers identified as Hussein Ali, Elvis Kioko, and Glaide Gwaga were on a night patrol when they received a distress call.

After the three were informed of the robbery, it emerged that Elvis kipkurui an employee at Wapi credit had been robbed off his motorcycle at gunpoint.

The officers tracked the said bike to chokaa area, Sadly during their search they encountered two riders with their bikes.

Reports indicate that one of the motorcycle had a pillion passenger, after being ordered to stop the motorcycles U-turned and escaped.

The officers reportedly shot at the riders killing one of the young men who was a passenger.

Ali and Kioko fired three shots each. Gwaga's did not discharge his firearm. At around 5 am, members of the public stumbled upon a dead body of a male adult who was later on identified as 29-year-old Dennis Wanyoike.

After some investigations the two cops have been disarmed awaiting more actions.

This incident comes at the back drop of of so many pending cases of extra Judicial killings by police officers.
