Bodaboda Rider Survived Lynching By Irate Mob After He Clobbered His Brother To Death In Maua

A bodaboda rider survived lynching by irate mob after he clobbered his brother to death in Maua town, Nyeri County.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Elias Muriithi hacked his 39-year-old brother Joseph Maina to death after they argued over a three-sofa set that Joseph was trying to repossess back after he(Muriithi) took from his mother’s house.

A bitter confrontation ensued between the two brothers after the victim was allegedly sent by his mum to go pick the seat from Muriithi's house.

Muriithi seemed to have become angered with the move, and an altercation ensued between them before he slashed his brother using a panga.

After slashing his brother multiple times, the accused allegedly chopped his head with a blunt item and he died on the spot.

After seeing his brother has lost his life, Muriithi escaped the scene and went to the police at Mathari Police Post to avoid lynching by the irate milling crowd that were baying for his blood.

Locals who had surrounded the scene to separate the duo found Joseph's body at the scene soaked in blood.

Police from Mathari Police Post who visited the scene found the victim lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.

His body was moved to Nyeri town hospital mortuary pending further investigations.
