Accidents on the Kenyan highways have been on the rise in the recent past with the government unsure of what to do in order to mitigate this scourge that has bedeviled our nation.

These accidents, have claimed upto 2000 lives since the start of the year in what is turning out to be another pandemic if the deaths are anything to go by.
The government, through the National Transport and Safety Authority has always urged motorists to be extra careful to avoid such accidents.
This morning, according to reliable reports from the Official Social Media Handle of the Deputy President of Kenya, William Ruto, Mama Duba Abdirahman has passed on after a fatal road accident.
The accident is said to have happened on the busy Wajir to Hadado Highway last night leaving the celebrated woman dead as per the reports that we have.
It's still unclear as to how the accident happened on the busy highway last night leaving Mama Duba Abdirahman dead.
Motorists plying the route have been asked to be extra careful to avoid such scenes that lead to loss of lives.
Mama Duba Abdirahman is known as a peace champion in the area and the Deputy President has mourned her for this.
Mama Duba Abdirahman was also the wife of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mohamed Sheikh who is also popularly known as Hambarsade.
Mohamed Sheikh has been the Rapid Deployment Unit Commander in Wajir County where he has been responsible for thwarting off several Al Shabaab attacks.
We extend our condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Mama Duba Abdirahman who lost her life in such an untimely manner.
