Corporal Benson Imbatu had just arrived home from work when he suddenly started arguing with his wife Caroline. The couples had last been seen together in a pub around the Kangemi area where they were imbibing drinks.
According to witnesses, the two were not on talking terms with the officer Accusing Carolina of infidelity. He reportedly assaulted her on Sunday when he found her talking to another man inside a club. 
On that fateful night, Imbatu killed seven people including two neighbors and two BodaBoda riders who had reportedly tried to confront him concerning the shooting.
After escaping, the officer reportedly called his mother and confessed his crime. He told her that he had killed his wife. When asked what had transpired, he immediately hung up his phone and switched it off. He then called his cousin and told him the same thing.
