Thika Road traffic police commander Justus Oracha who confirmed the incident said the accident involved Subaru and boda boda.
According to Justus, the student was heading to Githurai 45 aboard motorbike and the Subaru was travelling towards Thika town when the accident happened.
Justus said the bodaboda rider was attempting to overtake a Nissan matatu from the front at a high speed when the bike was hit by the oncoming Subaru car.
The student lost his life on spot. The rider sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was rushed to a private hospital within Thika Road for emergency treatment.
The body of the student was moved to Nairobi County hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and further police investigations.
The latest development comes only two weeks when Sukuma Wiki vendor died on the same spot after being run over by a matatu.
Justus said the Friday afternoon accident caused a heavy traffic snarl-up along the busy highway.
