30-year Old Woman Dies In New Years Celebration Stampade

Families of those who perished in a stampede in Uganda continue to grieve for them as they recall their final moments.

Nine people died in the stampede that broke out at a small exit of an entertainment area at Freedom City Mall on Entebbe Road in Kampala.

Early in the morning, Ugandans flocked to the mortuary run by the Kampala Capital City Authority to find out if any of their kin who had attended the event had perished in the stampede and been admitted there.

Maria Namyalo, a 30-year-old entrepreneur, is one of the families that has not yet accepted the death of a member. A call to Namyalo's family reportedly caused the family to become agitated.
