Tears as search for Tom Okwach, miner who is still trapped in Abimbo gold mine has entered its 47th day.
The family of the trapped miner has been camping at the site, with hopes that their son will be found alive.
The latest development comes barely one week when Kennedy Odede, shining hope for Communities (Shofco) CEO said the recovery process of Tom Okwach who has been underground for many days is ongoing.
Kennedy said the process is tedious, but he's optimistic and happy that the community in Abimbo, Bondo is not relenting. Shining Hope for Communities is standing with the family and community in this difficult moment.
For all these days, the family members of Tom Okwach who is still trapped in Abimbo gold mine in Bondo, Siaya County, have been in distress, as they now resign to fate.
Tom Okwach is said to be among ten trapped miners who were working at the collapsed mine when it caved in on December 2, 2021 few minutes to 1pm.
Tom Okwach was boda boda operator who ventured into mining to supplement his daily stipends.
Okwach, whose family remembers as the sole breadwinner, had only served at the Abimbo goldmine for eight months.
