A student at Pwani University is currently nursing serious injuries after he was assaulted by unknown robbers.
He was beaten to a pulp by the gangs before taking to their heels with his belongings, according to reports shared on Facebook. He lost his two fingers in the process.
From the photos shared online, the student is seen nursing deep cuts inflicted on his head.
Cases of university students being robbed in broad daylight have been on the rise in the recent past.
In 2019, a student from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology was stabbed to death by armed robbers at Seagull, Juja constituency while heading to their hostel.
The first-year student was in the company of a female when the incident happened. While on their way, they were confronted by two armed robbers.
She, Tabitha Muthoni Mwangi, was stabbed in her heart after failing to surrender her phone and money to the gangsters. Whereas, her friend escaped unhurt.
