There were dramatic scenes in Embakasi Sub-county after a top police officer was arrested after a series of car chases in the city. The Nairobi county Directorate of Criminal Officer (DCI) was arrested after making a blunder near a secured military zone while escaping his tormentors.
According to a police report posted on the popular Facebook page 'Officers in Operation' the suspect was arrested by Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) sentry officers after he whipped out a pistol while being involved in a car chase. The suspect who was identified as PC Kinuthia Joseph Wachiuri was arrested after trying to forcefully enter Embakasi Garrison Military barracks after trying to evade auctioneers who were after a car in his possession. He whipped out a pistol during the fracas which was later secured by the KDF officers who were manning the area.
The vehicle in question is said to have been financed by a loan and the suspect had defaulted to a tune of two million Kenya shillings after failing to repay his loan advances. He had also disabled a car tracking device that had been installed by the bank prompting the institution to use auctioneers to seize the car.
