Garisa: Former Garisa County Council Chairperson Among The 4 Who Died At Road Accident In Bangali

Four people, among them, the former Garisa county council chairperson died on Friday, June 11 in an accident on the Nairobi-Garissa Road.

The 6am accident at Bangali area happened after a private car, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado hit the rear part of a water bowser truck which was allegedly dangerously parked on the opposite site.

Four of the Prado occupants died on the spot, with only the driver surviving the morning crash accident.

The Prado car was going to Nairobi city from Garissa town when the accident happened.

The spokesperson of Garissa County administrators identified as Mohamed Hutle Buul who confirmed the incident told the press that one of the deceased was the former county council chairperson, Abdikadir Hassan.

“Mr Hassan was a man of integrity. He worked tirelessly, and was very industrious,” Mohammed said.

Tana North Sub-County Police Commander also identified as Ali Ndiema, said the Hassan, one man, lady and a child are the one who perished in the morning crash.

“We are hunting the driver and his tout of the truck after they fled from the scene,” Ndiema added.

The sole Prado who survived was admitted at Garissa County Referral Hospital for medical treatment.
