Over the last few months, incidents of insecurity involving rogue police officers have been on the rise with several officers arrested following their involvement in criminal activities.
A few days ago police recovered 2040 Live ammunition in an abandoned car which had been sprayed with bullets in the mihango area. According to detectives working on the case, the car belongs to a senior GSU officer who has since been arrested and placed under police custody.
The officer was working at the armory of a GSU training college in Nairobi. DCI officers have reportedly linked the incident to the mysterious disappearance of another GSU Officer Joseph Otieno who was also attached to the armory.
He was abducted a few months ago on his way to the Supermarket. According to detectives, the bullets which were found packed in cartons were destined for the hands of Laikipia Bandits who have been terrorizing residents.
