James Arumba has been threatening his mom Late Teresa Moragwa to divide her land and give him his share so he can sell and buy a motorcycle for boda boda business. It has become a norm for young men to venture into the business out of peer pressure. Young people think owning one makes you rich. What they forget is that land is an asset unlike motorcycle which is a liability.

At some point Arumba had chased his mom from their home because of the land issue. When she came back last evening while it was raining the son went in to the house, asked her to subdivide the land and when she said no, Arumba took a cloth line wire and strangled her to death.

It’s alleged that his uncle (brother to his late father) got a buyer and has been pushing the boy to demand for his share of land so he can sell it.

Police are yet to trace his whereabouts.
