In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has today released a seven-day weather prediction update that is valid from May 3rd to 9th.
This comes after an update which indicated the likeliness of reduction of the intensities and spatial coverage of rainfall nationwide towards the end of last month.
According to this new weather update, Rainfall is likely to continue over the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the South Eastern Lowlands, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Basin. The Forecast of met has always marked the above mentioned regions as the most rainfall dominated regions nationwide since the start of the rainfall season.
However, based on the detailed update, the county of Kisii, Nyamira, Transzoia and Uasin Gishu are at high possibilities of receiving rainfall above average. Others also include Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, West Pokot, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Migori, Baringo, Nakuru, Narok among others.
