A woman And Her 3-Year-Old Child Drown While Crossing A Flooded Stream In Bomet

In Bomet east, Bomet county, a 28-year-old woman and her three-year-old child drowned while crossing a flooded Kiplesan water stream.

Gladys Chelule and her daughter perished on their way home from a neighborhood new-born child's celebration party on Saturday night.

The mother may have overestimated the power of the water waves, according to Kiplabotwo chief Stanley Towett, because they had crossed the river the same way in the morning.

The rushing floods carried them more than 60 meters away from where the two bodies were discovered entangled between tree branches along the river stream.

The bodies have been sent to the Longisa County Morgue. Neighbours and friends are mourning for losing one of their beloved ones. May their soul rest in eternity. The chief stated to all residents not to cross any stream of a river if it flooded. It is their role to keep their lives safe and their friends.
