Police officers based in Kisauni Sub-County who were on patrol in Mjambere ward in reportedly arrested five youths belonging to an organized criminal group dubbed "Panga Boys."
Kenya police service has taken to Twitter to announce the arrest that took place this morning.
The five, identified by their names as Mr Abdul Shakur Charo, Mr Lukman Said Salim, Mr Omar Rajab Omar, Masuud Mohammed Bwana & Nahim Akinyi Ongut.
The group name is derived from their choice of weapon, Pangas (matchettes), were on their mission to commit serious crimes offence within Soko Mjinga Area in the said county.
The 5 Pangas were recovered from them according to the police reports.
The five gang members, who were reportedly also in possession of Marijuana, were placed in police cells as the guest of the state awaiting court arraignment on Monday.
The Police Service call call upon any member of the general public who may h've fallen victim to atrocities by the said gang to lay their complaints to Mjambere police station for further police action.
