Woman Allegedly Offers to Breastfeed a Young Child Rescued From a Pit Latrine

A rescue team from Tanzania has managed to rescue a young child presumed to be about 2-3 days old from a pit latrine. According to reports by popular a Tanzanian newspaper, the child was discovered by one teacher who was passing near the pit latrine latrine located inside a school.[Photo Courtesy]

He was forced to stop after hearing the sound of a baby crying and upon inspection, he found out that there was a young child inside the pit latrine which was about 20 metres in depth.

The teacher then decided to raise the alarm to the relevant authorities and a rescue team was sent to deal with the situation. They retrieved the baby from the pit latrine and it was revealed that he was wrapped in a black clothing.

The child has been taken to the hospital where he is receiving treatment and care from doctors and nurses. According to the head of the doctor in the hospital where the young child was taken, he claims that his health is good and they are ready to give him to one mother who has volunteered to breastfeed him and also live with him as her son.
