A two-week search for a missing woman by a family in Nairobi today ended in pain and agony after her body was found at the M agathi Hospital Morgue. Jane was admitted at Mama Lucy Hospital on the 12th of this month but was said to have been referred to Mbagathi hospital for covid-19 related complications.
The records of her admission however were missing according to the family. It is he mortuary records that raised more questions than answers.
Her husband says he received a call from the institution that his 57-year-old wife had been referred to Mbagathi Hospital after testing positive for covid-19 at around 1 a.m.
The man actually claims that doctors at the covid-19 isolation wing confirmed his wife was admitted at ICU but was not allowed to see her until the seven-day isolation period was over.
An official report from the hospital however, had it that no such procedure is followed when attending to visiting families of covid-19 patients. An agonizing 12 days of a search for her ended on Saturday when the family visited the Mbagathi Hospital only for them to learn of her demise.
