
Dramatic scene was witnessed from a little known Maua village, Meru county in the former North Eastern province after a woman,60, was beaten to death by her children for attempting to sell the family land and spend the cash with her new boyfriend.
According to the neighbour who sought anonymity for security reasons, the lady who have been absent from the estate for over three months arrived home in the company of three gentlemen who are alleged to be the potential buyers.
Defending their decision, her kids revealed she have become a drunkard and spend most of her time in alcohol dens taking illegal brews.
Conferming the incident, the area chief Mr Mutembei, the victim was rescued by locals or rather resident and was rushed to Tigania hospital where she was admitted. "She sustained head and body injuries but she is responding well to treatment, can be released from the facility anytime." He said.
