Yesterday president Uhuru Kenyatta made orders about the corona pandemic containment measures. Though he made it clear on curfew and gatherings, he did not address the issue bars and entertain joints which had previously been ordered to close at 7pm. The police through Matiang'i ordered the order to remain but now another order through the minister of health Mutahi Kagwe the 7 pm has been extended to 11pm.
Kenyans were fast to judge with majority expressing their joy towards the new directive which seek to see them get back to business like before. Yesterday there was friction between bar owners and police partaining the closure time something which saw several getting arrested in Nairobi Huruma Area.
Some Kenyans want the orders be given by only one individual or organ of the government to avoid contradicting situations. Others feel the police need an interpreter who will be expounding to them the real meaning of the directives. Here is a sample of their statements.
