A 30 year old Eldoret based man has been accused of holding a 15-year old school girl captive. For 10 months repeatedly, defiling her and getting her pregnant in the process.
The suspect Douglas Kagai who is a watchman by profession, is said to have committed the heinous act between April 2019 and February 29th 2020. He was presented before Eldoret Court on Wednesday. Where the victim revealed that Kagai had duped her on the pretence of being a police officer. Who could help her land a job at Eldoret Police Station.
The minor had run away from home before encountering Kagai. This is after falling out with her family over alleged mistreated. She used to sleep to a local Church when she met Kagai.
After agreeing to be taken in by the suspect, the victim would soon realise that Kagai had other motive as he proceeded to defile her. And lock her in Kamukunji house when he went to work.
He is currently detained at Eldoret prison since he was unable to raise bond after he denied the charges.The victim has been transferred to Huruma Children's Rescue Centre in Eldoret.The case will proceed on May 18 2022.
