KMD Warns Residents of These Areas to Brace For 4-Days of Heavy Rainfall

The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) ask residents of most parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and those staying around Lake Victoria Basin, to prepare for more rainfall which is valid between 26th to 30th of May, 2022.

According to the Department's latest five days weather update, several parts of South and Central Rift Valley shall also be receiving the same amount of rainfall while few areas over the Highlands East of the Rift Valley shall be receiving little amounts of the downpour. Also, the Coastal parts of the country as well as the North-western Kenya, will receive less rainfall within the next four days dateline as May nears its end.

However, the department also maintains that the rest of the country is likely to be generally dry. Arguably, the intensity of the rainfall in the country is expected to lower down as harvesting period approaches its horizons. This relatively explains the fact that the country considers March-April-May as a rainy season which means the month of June henceforth, shall be dry to initiate harvesting process.
