The father, identified as, Emmanuel Juma, reportedly enticed the girl with sweets and Alicia snarks before she followed him to Kiminini river in Mbai village, where he defiled her before pushing her into the river.
The report took place on Sunday evening.
The child's mother didn't know that the man went out with the daughter. And when she learned that the husband and daughter were nowhere to be seen, she informed her neighbours to assist in tracing the girl.
"After the minor's mother got wind that her child disappeared, she informed her neighbours who helped in searching for the minor. As they got to the river, they found the suspect trying to strangle the victim before pushing her into the river," Kiminini OCPD James Onditi told the press.
Onditi confirmed that the man was nabbed by members of the public as he escaped the scene during the 8pm attack.
