The 30 were choir members of Mwingi Catholic Church, police confirmed.
The tragic incident happened at around 11am, when the 30 choir members were heading to Nuu area from Mwingi Town.
Police added that the passengers were attending their male members’ wedding, when the tragic incident hit them.
Mwingi East Sub-County Commander Joseph Yakan confirmed the incident and said that the driver of the bus tried to steer the bus beyond a flooded bridge, however, the water waves were too great, hence the bus topple over.
Some of the choir members were filmed crying out loudly for help, as some raised their hands inside the water as the vehicle sank in water.
Rescue operations are still underway.
The latest development comes barely two days when ten gold miners were buried alive after a shaft collapsed in Abimbo Village, Bondo Sub-County.
