According to the viral video, the GSU officers are heard sending a regrettable message to Kenyans that many have perceived to be a threat to ordinary people.
However, the National Police service has made remarks saying “We wish to clarify and assure the public that the behaviour portrayed in the clip is not acceptable and does not reflect the values of the GSU, KPS and the NPS,” read the statement.
The police unit further informed that the video shared was not the representation of what the police departmrnt does. They have said “All graduates went through a rigorous value-based training model on democratic policing principles and designed to make them responsive and responsible officers of the law at the service of citizens.”
The GSU graduants featured on the video were graduating today in a ceremony graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior and co-ordination minister Fred Matiang'i.
