Three members of the same family among the nine killed after sugarcane truck rolled at Rodi Kopany Road, Homabay County.
The incident was confirmed by Homabay women representative Honourable Gladys Wanga on her official Facebook page.
"Homabay County is in mourning. We have this evening lost nine lives as a truck transporting cane rolled and killed 3 members of the same family at Rodi Kopany. My heart goes out to the families that are this evening in shock following the sudden loss of loved ones. May God comfort you in ways that only HE knows." She posted.
A witness identified as John who confirmed the incident told the press that Rodi Kopany road has been a black spot long enough and it takes not 2 but more lives at once, adding something should be done.
Brief reports by the press revealed that the truck was cruising at high speed when it lost control of its breaks and overturned along the busy road.
The bodies of the nine deceased was transferred to the hospital mortuary for preservation and identification.
May God rest their soul in eternal peace.
