Celestine Muthengei was a Second Year student at Mount Kenya University (MKU) pursuing Community Development who was killed by unknown man on Monday night. According to late Celestine roommates the man visited their hostel room at around 8 p.m and inquired where the deceased was. They also reveal the man was very polite and they even thought he could be her coursemate.
After seeing Celestine the man asked her if she thought he won't get her after cheating on him. Suddenly he drew a knife from a pocket and started stabbing her mindlessly. The roommates further reveal that they tried to scream but the criminal had locked the door from inside. The man stabbed the lady in her chest, her head, back and limbs and made sure she was bleeding profusely before escaping to the dark. Celestine succumbed to serious injuries upon arrival at Thika Level Five Hospital.
Her roommates describe her as caring, delightful, modest and a girl who had love for books. The Thika West Sub County Commander Mohamed Kofa said that they have started investigation on the case and will soon bring the culprit to the book. The man who committed the murder had wore a CMM cap, a grey jacket and a mask. Celestine's roommates have called for speedy justice for their friend. May her soul rest in peace.
