Police Cop Nabbed As KRA Recovered 384 Rolls And 29 Booms Of Bhang Along Komomwamu-Motemorabu Road

Police officer has been nabbed, 384 rolls and 29 brooms of bhang worth Ksh.90, 500 recovered by Kenya Revenue Authority(KRA) along the Komomwamu-Motemorabu road, border of Kenya and Tanzania, Kuria West sub-county.

Kuria West Sub-county Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the arrest saying the police officernidentified as Joshua Gitonga, 39, was nabbed by detectives inconjuction with officers drawn from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

Mr.Kimaiyo added that the police together with the KRA officials who were on routine duty and after getting the wind of the incident from a local, blocked the officer.

The sub-county police commander added that after KRA inspected the vehicle possessed by the officer, they seized bhang which is still being held by police.

He added that the officer will be placed in court today Tuesday and charged for being in possession of the contraband drug.

The latest development comes barely two months when two officers were arrested in possession of 450 rolls of bhang.
