Two Suspected Criminal Gang Members Lynched to Death in Nakuru

Two suspected members of a criminal gang q Nakuru residents were on Saturday evening lynched to death by an irate mob along Nakuru Nairobi highway at Gateiguru bus station. The two whose identities are yet to be confirmed were en route to Mawanga where up to 6 women have been killed.

The two were identified from a Facebook post where their pictures were shared widely with many accusing them of being gang members. A murmur by a group of people turned fatal as members of the public took law into their own hands.

Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi visited the area recently and vowed to root out the gang promising that politicians allegedly helping them out will be dealt with ruthlessly.

The menace caused a huge snarl-up, along the usually busy highway. The police from Nakuru central police station cleared the scene and found two crude weapons including knives with blood stains and a wire believed to be used to strangle the victims.

Their bodies were taken to Nakuru level 5 hospital as an investigation into the same is launched. Nakuru county police boss Beatrice Kiraguri asked the Nakuru residents to let the police do their work and to avoid taking law into their own hands.

"We understand that the matter is frustrating but let's not law into our own hands. Let the police do their work and we promise to bring them to book,"
