DCI officers have arrested key suspect behind Isaac Juma’s gruesome murder at his Ebuyenjere home, Mumias

The renowned football fan Isaac Juma Onyango, 58, who was butchered in cold blood on Wednesday night minutes past 9pm.

The suspect, Milton Namatsi, 27, was nabbed from his house by detectives attached to Mumias office, after preliminary findings connected him to the murder most-foul.

Juma together with his family had their supper at their home in Ebuyenjere area in Mumias, when his attackers captured him.

On Wednesday night, kids who were having their evening meal outside the house reportedly saw armed men near Mr Juma's fence.

They raced to the house and told their parents who never bothered. Few minutes, a commotion ensued near the sheep pen and before long the sheep began bleating, and Juma together with his 17-year-old son went outside to look what was a mess.

But before they establish what was going on, armed men attacked them, slashing Juma to death. His 17-year-old son successfully cheat death by a whisker.

Detectives believed that Juma’s murder maybe linked to land dispute that surrounded his extended family.

Isaac Juma, newspaper vendor in Nakuru before going back to his farm in Mumias, was a staunch supporter of Harambee football fan and the AFC Leopards.

The suspect is now in police custody and is being grilled pending his arraignment in court tomorrow.
