14 arrested in Uasin Gishu over stoning of Raila's chopper

After the burial of Mzee Kibor in Uasin Gishu, fourteen individuals were apprehended in connection with the stoning of Azimio la Umoja's official competitor Raila Odinga's chopper at Kabenes.

Commissioner Stephen Kihara of Uasin Gishu County stated those apprehended had provided information on how the incident transpired.

He went on to say that the episode was orchestrated by key political leaders in the district.

According to Kihara, government officials would be photographed to serve as role models for others.

"We will not allow it to happen in our country, and anyone who does so will face heavy penalties," he warned on Saturday.

According to the County Commissioner, investigations are underway to ensure that anyone involved is apprehended and charged.

The arrests follow Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's directive to the National Police Service to investigate and apprehend young people involved in the stoning of ODM leader Raila Odinga's chopper on Friday.

Matiang'i condemned the attack in a statement, stressing that those who orchestrated it should be apprehended as well.

"I demand that the National Police Service investigate the situation and ensure that all of the perpetrators and their geniuses are made to face the consequences of their lawbreaking acts soon and definitively," he stated.

According to the CS, this is in order to return our country to the days it has been attempting to leave behind it, which was due to political narrow-mindedness.
