Police in Mombasa have arrested three suspected terrorists at the Likoni ferry crossing, recover two AK-47 rifles, phones and ammunition.
Mombasa County Police Commander Manase Musyoka who confirmed the arrest said the duo were nabbed following a tip-off from the members of the public.
According to Manase, the two suspects were apprehended enroute to Nyali aboard a probox vehicle.
Upon searching their gateway probox vehicle, police recovered two AK-47 rifles, phones and 432 rounds of ammunition.
The police boss confirmed that the two are part of the robbery suspect arrested on Saturday linked with spike of robbery incidents in Nyali Sub-County and its environment.
Police identified the duo as Brian Aokari, 34, and Emmanuel Korir, 31.
They are currently detained at Likoni town police station pending police investigations on the matter.
Manase said the duo will be arraigned in court on Wednesday and charged.
The latest development comes only a day when three suspected thugs were gunned down in Misori road while on a planned robbery mission.
