A family in Gilgil has been thrown into a somber mood following the death of their 21-year-old daughter who was brutally murdered and her body thrown along Ngata Bridge at Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
According to a report given by her father Mr James Maina, Ms. Angeline Mary Wangui had last communicated with him on December 11, 2022, at 8 pm. He revealed that his daughter had informed him that she had been invited to a friend’s party at Kabaraka.
"She informed me she was preparing supper and that she was with her elder sister. She then told me that she had been invited to a friend’s party, saying that she would not like to miss it, promising to return in the morning.” the father said.
She told her sister that she had been invited to a friend's party at Kabaraka and promised to come back the next day.
However, Ms. Angeline’s body would be found a day later dumped by the roadside in a sack along Nakuru highway.
Her father later received a saddening call from their pastor who requested them to arrive in Nakuru city with immediate effect without divulging what they were going to do.
"When the pastor called I never suspected anything. We went with my wife. On our way, the pastor told us that my daughter was involved in an accident but after gathering enough courage he told us what had happened and that her body was at Nakuru City mortuary, he said.
The father also revealed that a post-mortem conducted on the deceased indicated that her daughter died of suffocation and she had been sexually assaulted.
Mr Maina now wants the government to help him get justice over his daughter’s death and the arrest of her killers.
