Nairobi Water Has Announced A 24-Hour Supply Outage In Nairobi and Surrounding Areas.

From 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 10th, 2022, to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 11th, 2022, the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced a supply interruption.

The supply stoppage was caused by a big breach on the raw water pipeline from Mwagu water intake along the Chania river to Ngethu Water Treatment Plant, according to the company's managing director, Nahason M. Muguna.

According to Nairobi Water, the large leak will compel the Ngethu Water Treatment Plant to entirely shut down.

The outage has affected the entire City Centre, the University of Nairobi main campus, the Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River, and areas along Mombasa Road: South B, South C, and their environs.

Areas along Kangundo Road such as Ruai, Kayole, Komarock Estate, and Njiru would be shut off from power during the repairs.

Kenya Breweries, Kenyatta University, Kahawa Barracks, Kasarani, Mwiki, Kahawa Sukari, Garden Estate, and Thome Estate are all located along Thika Road.

Limuru Road, Langata Road, Kikuyu Road, James Gichuru Road, Waiyaki Way, Riverside, Westlands, Lavington, Kilimani, and Kileleshwa would all be affected by the outage.85 percent of Nairobi County is served by the Ng'ethu water treatment facilities.
