Renowned Kenyan journalist Zubeidah Koome Kananu has finally laid her late mother by the moniker of Mary Halima to rest.
The sassy Swahili news anchor had last week shared the sad news of the matriarch's demise with her instagram followers.

In her post she further disclosed that she would be buried on Saturday the 3rd of December in Ruiri, Meru County.
Well this happened in the past weekend, and Zubeidah Kananu has today taken to her Instagram account to give netizens a glimpse of how the sad event went down.
This was via several photos that she shared, and they showed how friends and family members had turned up in huge numbers to support her during the tough time.
Among the people who came for the burial ceremony of the late Mary Halima include renowned lawyer Danstan Omari among others.

Zubeidah Koome further accompanied the post with a long caption, where she appreciated everyone that chose to stand by her family through this mourning time.
She infact acknowledged the importance of their support, and further wished them many blessings in their lives.
"On behalf of my family, I thank each one of you for standing with us during this difficult time. The pain we are in is so much to bear, but you've been our pillar of strength.
It's been a tough journey but we are strong willed because of the generosity, patience, love and support you have offered.
We may not be able to thank each one of you personally, but we pray that God gives you back ten fold all that you have invested in us. God bless you and your families. Much love" she wrote.
