A police officer found himself in an tricky situation after losing 1.15 million Kenyan shillings, minutes after he had withdrawn the amount from a bank situated at Gilgil town in Nakuru county.
The Chief Inspector of Police based in Astu Headquarters in Gilgil was robbed of the cash when he was taking lunch in a hotel some minutes before 2PM in the afternoon of Monday May 24.
Detectives investigating the robbery said that the thug drove away in a white Mazda vehicle, where he is yet to be arrested.
DCI officers from Gilgil visited the scene of crime, processed it and recorded statements of the eyewitness to aid in tracing the thug.
The matter has also been forwarded to police headquarters at Vigilance, Nairobi for further evaluation by the detectives.
