Following the arrest of this rogue driver who was witnessed some few days ago vandalizing someone's vehicle led to the Call by the netizens for justice to be served to the victim.
Today morning when the suspect was being arraigned in court, it was observed that the vehicle from which this rogue driver was operating from, its number plates were missing. The National transport and safety authority(NTSA) had removed off the number plates belonging to the vehicle.
This barely means that the vehicle will not meet the terms and conditions required to operate on Kenya's roads. This has really cost the owner to the Matatu a great deal.
The law agency usually takes toll on the owner whenever something like this happens. The owner is legally reliable for the wrongs committed by the agent (driver) even though his liability is limited to civil wrongs i.e the damages. The owner now will have to repair the victim's car on his or her satisfaction before the Matatu is handed back to him.As to the driver now, malicious damage to property awaits him which are, fine, imprisonment or both. the amount to be fined depends on the value of the property which faces to about 5 years in jail, sh.500,000 fine or both.
