An autopsy report has revealed that 25-year-old olympian Agnes Tirop died of stab wounds on the neck and a blunt force trauma on the pinnacle.
The athlete's body was found in an exceedingly pool of blood on the morning of Wednesday, October 13, with stab wounds believed to own been inflicted on her by her lover Ibrahim Rotich.
On Tuesday, October 19, two pathologists at the Iten County Referral Hospital (ICRH) mortuary who meted out the post-mortem said the world-record breaking runner had also been hit by a blunt object.
The deceased's parents Vincent and Diana Tirop were also present at the funeral chapel. This came because the main suspect within the murder Rotich, who was caught each day after the murder, while trying to evade justice is in 20-day detention.
Rotich was arraigned before Magistrate Charles Kutwa on Monday, October 18, where the prosecution sought longer to detain him. The court directed that the accused be detained at Railways station house in Eldoret.
He will undergo a mental assessment at Eldoret Teaching and Referral Hospital. The case are mentioned on November 9.
Meanwhile, Tirop's burial arrangements are still ongoing at her target Nandi county. it's slated for Saturday, October 23, the identical day she would have celebrated her 26th birthday were she alive.
On Monday, her father said since Rotich, who is currently in custody failed to properly enkindle his daughter's hand in marriage and his family don't, therefore, have a right to be at her internment.
