The Monday evening accident involved North Rift Nissan and a trailer at around 5pm.
Nakuru-Eldoret road traffic police officer Jeffrey Kent confirmed the incident saying the Nissan had 10 passengers onboard and was enroute to Nakuru town from Eldoret when the accident happened.
"The accident involved a North Rift Matatu shuttle that was headed to Eldoret town from Nakuru and the trailer on transit headed to Eldoret from Nakuru. The Nissan matatu was moving at a high speed, veered off the road and collided head-on with the oncoming trailer," Jeffrey said.
He added, "the driver of the Matatu shuttle escaped with slight serious injuries and two teachers who were passengers on the matatu died on the spot."
The driver of the Matatu was rushed to Nakuru specialist hospital for emergency treatment.
The accident comes only four days when two other people died in a road accident that involved a car and Nissan along the busy road.
The bodies of the two teachers were transferred to Umash funeral home in Nakuru County.
Police have launched investigations into the Monday evening accident.
