Everyday is a surprise day to Kenyans and today was a different day to the family of Constable Ruben Kimutai Lel after the person they thought was dead came back to them.
On the 24th of September, news broke that a police officer who went missing and was later sacked for failing to show up for work was struggling for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The Constable was comatose without his family or friends knowing, and they assumed he was dead. He went missing in December 2020 after being granted a leave of absence, and he failed to go to work in January 2021 as scheduled.
A few days following his departure, the cop was engaged in a hit-and-run collision on Nairobi's Jogoo Road. His scalp was seriously damaged, and he was missing all of his identification. The first respondents stole Kimutai's phone and wallet.
