The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has scheduled a long electricity outage on Sunday, October 10, in different parts of the country. As usual the Kenya Power and Lighting Company schedules the electricity interruption in order to do network maintenance.
The outage that is scheduled tomorrow will leave residents of the named areas below without electricity. The scheduled shutdown will interrupt businesses and many other places that rely on electricity to operate daily activities.
The Kenya Power and Lighting Company usually give out the power interruption notices as per the Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules. According to these Electric Power rules, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company is supposed to cut the supply of electricity whenever carrying out essential activities such as facilitating maintenance and the upgrades of electricity lines to the national grid network.
The Kenya Power also shuts down supply of electricity in order to connect new customers. In other occasions, KPLC carries out replacements of the power lines during road constructions that lead to long power blackouts. Tomorrow, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company has set the power interruption to affect the people living in the following areas;
