Kenyans have awoken to the news that a section of Mombasa Road has been abruptly closed with no prior notice due to a heavy traffic jam. A photograph of the scene shows security officers stationed along the section of road in question. In the past, there was a traffic jam on Mombasa Road. Only for illustration purposes.
According to the information shared, the road closure has caused a massive traffic jam at Capital Centre, CBD. The situation is also reported to have affected Lower Hill, Upper Hill Road, Mara Road, Haile Sellasie and Nyayo Round About. Traffic is expected to be disrupted today from 0600 to 1300 hrs due to temporary road closures for a cycling race.
City Hallway, Parliament Road, Harambee Avenue, Uhuru Highway, Langata Road via overpass to Uhuru Gardens U-turn, Aerodrome Road, and Bunyala Road are all affected.
