Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju's mother, Mama Mary Odiyo Tuju, has passed on.
Mama Mary died on the night of Wednesday, November 18, 2021, while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital. She passed away at the age of 87.
In his message of sympathy to the family, President Uhuru Kenyatta eulogised Mama Mary as a hard-working community leader and elder who passionately loved and promoted education as the foundation of life.
Mama Mary was a well-known and well-respected community leader who believed in the virtues and benefits of education. The President remarked that her notion that education was the foundation of life was the inspiration that pushed many from her community to pursue education and become valuable members of society.
The Head of State praised Mama Mary as a strong matriach who created a prosperous family and prayed to God to provide the Tuju family consolation and fortitude in this terrible season of sorrow.
We will eternally be grateful for the effort she has made for our nation and for raising a strong family, which has continued to contribute to the socioeconomic revolution of our country.
"I pray that God will shine his love and serenity in your hearts as you mourn the passing of your dear mother. "President Kenyatta guarantees you of my prayers and support as you come to grips with the death of your family matriarch," he reassured the family.
