Banditry is one of the illegalised activities in the country. It is commonly associated with the cattle rustling activities being witnessed in the pastoralism areas of Rift Valley and Eastern region.
Government recently responded to the frequent attacks in Laikipia and Kerio Valley belt by introducing police reservist amongst other security measures to curb the menace. However, some casss of this banditry attacks are still being witnessed. 
Today, Residents of Marmanet, Laikipia County reported that bandits attacked their homestead armed with knives commonly known as Machetes and did not requested for cattle but rather food. According to a video shared by Kenya Broadcasting Corporation on their Facebook page, locals said that they attacked their stores and killed a middle-aged man who was on their way before stealing the food. Two people are currently hospitalized in Nyahururu who were also attacked and injured by the bandits.
